A Late Goodbye

Posted in Uncategorized on November 27, 2008 by Adam Smoot

It’s been a while since baseball season ended, and I never gave you all a proper goodbye.

What started out as a side project, became an obsession. I wrote like a madman, designed t-shirts and tried everything I could to keep you all entertained. While, I can only assume it worked–my 50 page views a day says so, dammit!–I realized something. There are way too many voices in the sports blogosphere.

Blogs were supposed to be a way for people to express their own personal opinions, and sometimes be a little snarky in the process. They’re supposed to be a break from what we read on an everyday basis. Problem is, it seems there are already a million other people saying the exact same things I am, and to be brutally honest, I don’t feel like I’m adding anything new. I’ll leave it to people a lot more qualified than myself to do that.

Writing, for me, is an outlet. It’s something I love to do and it does a pretty good job of keeping me sane. That said, I’ll still be writing, but probably at Apartment 718. (My original blog.) Some of it will be about sports, but for the most part, it’ll be random. If you liked my style of writing, and don’t care too much about the topic, you’ll probably be mildly entertained over there as well.

But, for everyone that made this past year as much fun as it’s been, I thank you. And to that one Phillies fan that made it a point to be obnoxious over here, I hope you choke on a turkey leg today. (No, I’m kidding. Congratulations. Jackass.)

Maybe I’ll see you all when baseball season starts again.
